There IS Good Daycare Available in Riyadh

Because so many families in Saudi Arabia rely on housemaids who often double as nannies as well as many women choosing to not work, it can be difficult to find good daycare opportunities whether a Saudi or expat resident in the Kingdom.  Therefore I am happy to at least share of a good and reputable daycare facility in Riyadh of which I am aware.  Maha Al-Ameel oversees the Little Scholars Nursery and Activity Center located in the Sulaimaniya area two doors down from AlJazira Compound.

Little Scholars Nursery and Activity Center has given careful thought to produce and provide children fun-filled days of activities to enhance their learning experience and encourage creativity.  With their experienced foreign staff, American curriculum and innovative programs, a child is provided with an unsurpassed learning experience! The facility is open from 8 am to 12 pm and for ages one to six years.

Some additional important background for families seeking quality daycare for their child and provided by Little Scholars Nursery and Activity Center:

The curriculum is designed into thematic units that encourage curiosity, self-direction and confidence.

* Daily updates of your child’s progress

* Your child will build skills and confidence through games, songs, movement and art.

After-School Daycare:

For those busy or working mothers, after-school daycare is provided from 12 noon until 7pm daily Saturday- Wednesday.

Activity Center:

In the afternoons, there are activities such as english classes, hip hop, french, book club and more! The center is open for all children from any schools.
To register for the afternoon classes, Please e-mail your child’s name, age and activities you have selected with a contact number.  If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail Little Scholars Nursery and Activity Center at xlittlescholarsx@gmail.com or call 0546603553.

  1. this would help for who find out a daycare center.

  2. tthanks, i agree with you

  3. I checked out this daycare. It is VERY expensive. For one semester it is $7500 SR per toddlers, and the family supplies their own meals. For younger children I believe they quoted $6500SR per semester. This is for care from 8am until 12pm—4 hours per day. I haven’t visited yet, but they do seem very nice. Just thought I’d post the prices, and it is always a consideration.

  4. Hi Melissa,

I think due to the very very limited number of daycares out there in addition to their programs and high qualified staff the prices are what I would expect. I do encourage you to pay a visit and see the facility firsthand.

    Thanks for sharing your comments.

  5. helo everybody , im gonna work in riyadh inshallah starting next june ..but my main concern is my baby ..both me and my wife are docotrs and will be both in the hospital working all day …and im searching for day care to keep him thee and it seems very difficult finding a good one…

  6. @Dr. Bsat,

How old is your child? That will be a key element on any day care options. Otherwise most families, instead, engage a nanny.

  15. Dr. Aziz,

Welcome! Day care options continue to change in Riyadh and more facilities are starting to open up. However, I’m not sure specifically to the area where you are located. Perhaps someone else reading may be able to respond.

  16. Are there any day cares in Riyadh that opens all year around?
Most of the day cares and nurseries are only open during academic years (1st,2nd semester) no support during summer holidays!
My job does not entitle me for that much of holidays!

  29. WARNING: Please be aware that someone is posting fake positive reviews about Al-Alameen British Islamic School on this and other blogs to attract parents. Many of their teachers left during the first term and the school is extremely overpriced for what you get in return.

Abu Abdul-Rahman thank you for the warning, I checked, you were right. The fake comments have been edited.

  34. tiny tots is a good nursery

  35. We tried out a local play center mentioned here but the prices were crazy 15.000sr for a baby stupid whom wil pay this. I tried the Al-alameen but not open late been to tiny tots and again nothing. Tried salwa compound but far away for me.
I tried many schools but they dont take younger children. I am worried to leave my kid with some maid or home nursery what shall I do?
I am at loss I am starting my job next week and really worried any advice on day care from 7-5pm. I dont want to be ripped off with 15.000sr and admisison fees plzzzzz I came here to make money not loose it.

  36. As expected, more comments in defence of Al Alameen British Islamic school, using different names. No other school in Riyadh has so many positive reviews by so many different people. Think about it. (Track the IP addresses of all these comments and it’s easy to see where these reviews are coming from. )

Thank you again for putting this to our attention. You are right in your suspicions. To our astonishment we found the half of the comments on this article to be fake.

    This is absolutely unacceptable.

  50. […] Little Scholars Day Care in Riyadh continues to offer valuable and fun-filled programs for wee ones.  Little Scholars is likely among the few to offer a program during Eid al Adha.  For parents who must work during the holiday, I’m sure this news is very appreciated. […]

  51. […] Little Scholars will be having a Camp from January 21- 25, 2012! […]
