  1. Thanks Carol for this video message. Happy holidays to you and to all in this blog.

It is a deep message indeed. If we can cry a river at the sight of such injustice, just what would Jesus (as), who is very gentle and who preached love, patience and removed illness from people, – what would he say to all this?

If only we can see through the hatred and realise that we are humans and can live in tranquility …. if only….

    Peace

  2. Carol, Wish you ‘Merry Christmas’

  3. Carol, ( and the cats)
Have a wonderful holiday!!! Moving video…

  4. The video is simplistic. Assuming Jesus actually existed in the way the Bible describes him, he was a Jew. However unjustly the Palestinians have been treated, I doubt that Jesus would have been so gung ho about people who hate Jews so publicly and so virulently. This hatred of Jews didn’t start in 1948 (I am sure you are famliar with Amin al-Husseini and his connection with the Nazis) . The Palestinians made a bet that it was all or nothing when they rejected Israel in 1948. The neighboring Arabs states started a series of wars that really hasn’t ended, today’s Palestinians are living in a world they helped create.

I cannot support the Israelis but neither can I ignore history. Israeli injustice didn’t arise out of nothing.

  5. Merry Christmas, Carol! I hope your day is extra-special!

  6. @Carol, thank you and merry Christmas and happy holidays.

@Jerry M. Never relenting it seems, the Hasbaranic hold on the discourse. Love it when the GRAND MUFTI boogeyman is conjured up. Let me do you one better:

    @EVERYONE

Really special request (in the spirit of the holidays if you will. Really hope you don’t mind Carol) if anyone knows where I can get in touch with TRP (http://muttawa.blogspot.com/) please let me know. I tried emailing him, and it keeps bouncing back.

Thanks in advance. If you do know of anything please email me at wrldconnect1 at gmail dot com

    Thanks.

  7. Merry Christmas to all and thanks for the video Carol.

Gerry said something that is very important with his last two sentences but it has to stop somewhere and sometimes history has to be put aside.

  8. Hey Wendy,

if Holocaust museums can be funded at the expense of Holocaust victims because of some negligible ‘Nazi-victim’ Swiss accounts – but Palestinians are expected to ‘let bygones be bygones’ and not expect reparations for the crimes of ethnic cleansing, then I guess some people’s moral compasses have gone awry.

But hey, whatever floats your boat. I guess some are more equal than others.

  9. A very merry christmas and a very happy new year to you carol, and to all blog friends 🙂

  10. I think ob is making correlations that aren’t true imo. Kinda biased don’t u think

  11. merry christmas and happy holidays to you Dear Carol and all readers, have a great time with your family 🙂

  12. @Occupied Brain,

There’s some suggestion that TRP, which I’ve never read, is a hoax. I think Abu Sinan, who voiced this suspicion based on hus use of the name name, “Farah” which is apparently more commonly assocaiated with East Africans, than Saudis.

    I don’t know.

  14. onigirifb,

there is no Unique atrocity in history. All atrocities are atrocities, IMHO. If you think I’m drawing false parallels, we’ll have to agree to disagree.

My thoughts on this can be summed up in: no justice, no peace.

  15. Hello Occupied brain

Whether or not anti semitism was active in pre-ww2 Palestine or not (and (I wasn’t there and I doubt you were there), the video conjures up a Jesus who supports a militancy in Palestine that most followers of Jesus (ie:Christians) would find odd. I don’t support the Israelis, but the video says something about Jesus that is not supportable by anything Jesus is reported to have said.

  16. The evil done by the Arab states in keeping refugee camps open for decades (long after other displace persons from the 40’s have been settled or returned home) is something that must be addressed. In place like the US, if you are born here you have the rights of citizenship. If that were true in the middle east the refugee situation would have been done many years ago. Is that real justice? For someone like me, a man born in a country thousands of miles from where my mother’s parents were born, yes.

If all the money that we spent trying to destroy Israel, had been spent building a better world for the refugees, there might not be perfect justice but there would be some justice. The all or nothing Arab approach condemned Palestinian children to decades of suffering with promises that haven’t been kept.

  17. Thank you all for the lovely holiday greetings!

My day was a joyful day spent with family. It was so much fun seeing my two year old grandson full of exuberance and saying “How cool!” as he looked upon his new gifts. My one week old grandson was dressed in his holiday wear but chose to sleep through the gift exchanges!

It was a white Christmas in North Carolina and today (day after) most places remained shut down….after all, it’s not every day that Charlotte gets two inches of snow on the ground! (smile)

  18. Ha,ha…Carol, your comment made me smile. 😀

  19. glad to have given you a smile, Susanne!

  20. @lol Carol

I’ll trade ya. I think we’ve got about 7in on the ground right now with more to come.

    @OB

True. BUT there are some that are more memorable than other; the Holocaust, the Killing Fields of Cambodia, the Crusades, the Inca massacre by Cortez… I’m sure I can go on. However, I’ve noticed in this thread and the others we’ve “talked” on that you are blindly biased towards Palestinians and do not agree with ANYTHING it seems that Israel does. I can at least agree that the conception of Israel was a tad bit unethical but can you admit to anything that isn’t part of your bias? Also noticed that I have apologized for my behavior, my country, my views, etc but YOU have NOT. What does that say about you?

Palestinians will have no justice until they also learn to COMPROMISE! Then perhaps if the stupid Hezbollah (Iranian backed) or Hamas (I believe Saudi backed) will quit terrorist activities. Since that isn’t going to happen soon since they are to stupid to get that concept I doubt there will be peace soon.

    GoodNight

Let’s not give up hope for peace in Israel-Palestine.
